If possible, don’t leave pets alone with an abusive partner. If you are planning to leave, talk to friends, family or your veterinarian about temporary care for your pet. If that is not an option, search by state or zip code for services that assist domestic violence survivors with safekeeping for their pets . Try zip code first, and if there are no results, try a search by state. If the none of the results are feasible for your situation, try contacting your local domestic violence or animal shelter directly. For help finding an animal shelter, visit the Humane Society website .
We are outspoken in our views. Unlike our sister company, The Economist newspaper, much of our work is bespoke for clients and remains confidential. But we share the same fierce passion for independence and integrity. Clients work with us because we are not afraid to tell them what we really think. We never pander to internal agendas or work to buttress some preconceived strategy. We have no vested interest in any specific recommendation—we do not undertake follow-on work to help clients to implement strategies or plan M&A. We just analyse the facts and present our conclusions. We believe that our clients execute better strategies as a result.
My wonderful physician told me to take 2 cups of warm water, add 1/2 plus 1/8 tsp (measuring type, not kitchen teaspoons) salt (plain old table salt), stir well; then take 1 kitchen tablespoon of the saline solution, put one nostril completely into the water and sniff it up into the nostril. Repeat on the other side. Grab a paper towel and blow out the, uh… ‘results’. No burn, no sting and does NOT make you feel like you’re drowning.
Great way to wash out pollen grains which cause allergic responses, various offending organisms (unless they’ve already entered the cells), and clear the openings into which the eustachian tube drains. Can be used as often as you like. Just keep the container covered so the water doesn’t evaporate and leave too much salt in the solution. Put it in the microwave, nuke it for 30 seconds and you’re ready to go again. Change it out every day.
Also, a great way to be able to sleep at night with your mouth closed.
